My first matte painting for a class assignment. While it's not my favourite form of art matte painting is a very useful skill, however you need a very good sense of perspective and eye for detail.
I played it safe with this piece and went for a very stationary composition. The idea is KL city in the future where it's become a waterfall city. Photos used were found from Google.
could you send me a larger version of this? Perhaps 150% bigger. I can't get it clear enough. I want to try and replicate this with watercolors, if thats alright.

strange, this is the EXACT same concept as a painting my good friend and acclaimed artist James Gurney did back in 2001, and with the same title. that had BETTER be just a coincidence or im gonna be mad.
Hi, if you google 'waterfall city' you will find that this is a pretty common idea that just about anybody, James Gurney or not, could come up with. And the title, it says what it sees. Pretty straightforward. It's really not strange at all. Have a good day.
